March Madness 2012 is being held on historic Fort Leavenworth at the IHG Army Hotel. We have managed to get an even lower room rate than years past at just $65 plus tax -- AND a game room with over 2000 sq ft of gaming nirvana - twice the size of last years. As an added bonus the hotel breakfast room is just across the hall, and it also is a bar in the evenings. Rooms are suites with a queen bedroom and a private living room with a fold out couch for a bed. Also includes a kithchenette.
Located on an active military reservation, attendees will be required to show ID upon entering the installation, and vehicle are subject to search (so leave questionalbe items at home :-). Restaurants on the base are open to attendees - they range from fast food like burger king and pizza, to short order, and more substantial buffet restaurant.
There is an excellent museum on the Fort, that includes a very modern exhibit on the Lewis and Clark expedition. We are working to see if we can arrange a special tour during the convention, but it is only a couple of blocks from the venue - so attendees can easily go visit on their own.

Rates are good Thursday night through Sunday night for those coming early or staying late. Structured format, select from a group of scenarios each round, a new scenario pack developed by club members will also be available for play. There will be mini-tournament on Saturday. Timed rounds will be played for the game championship.
The game room opens at 0900 on Friday, and the first competitive tournament round will be played at 2 PM. There will be a warm up round for players who arrive early to practice their ASL skills. The second round played at 7 PM. Hopefully this will make Saturday a more relaxed game day with only two rounds.
We'll have distinctive T-Shirts again this year, they are available for pre-order at $20 for all sizes. Reserve when you register or buy at the door (while supplies last).
